爱心圣诞餐

2020年12月25日
大赞我们华人社区的十几位青少年孩子们协助Feed Thy Neighbor 慈善机构为120多位无家可归人，残疾人，和老人做圣诞餐。孩子们用心设计菜单，并且手工绘画了两百多个饭盒。在圣诞前日和圣诞节这两天忙做饭。Feed Thy Neighbor 的几位长老做了十个火鸡和十个大火腿，孩子们轮班帮厨。今天早上把120多饭盒装好，交给一龙自愿者车队送饭。谢谢有爱心的孩子们，牺牲休息时间做慈善侍工，很感人的圣诞礼物！

欢聚入云感恩节

华协祝大家感恩节快乐！疫情中，华协以新颖的方式进行聚会-ZOOM 餐厅在感恩节那天傍晚，我们在线上分享美食，疫情把我们分隔了好久，朋友们这次可以安全地痛快聊天，也可以第一时间分享Black Friday shopping 信息，各个“餐厅”独立存在，互不打扰，还可以串门，乐在其中。感谢华协理事们（尤其是薛伟），加上志愿者李京和子龙多次测试“欢聚入云感恩节”操作，为这次云端聚会做了大量技术工作！今天华协首次尝试举办的云端聚会非常成功，丰富了疫情中的社区活动！

NORTHWEST WINTER FEST

2020年11月14日
今天华协由伟玲主席带领一队人马十位志愿者冒着风寒支持Northwest Winter Fest ，做了中华文化的录像，代表社区宣传中国文化艺术！感谢舞蹈队惠杰队长带领四位队员(霍敏，阿明，曼聪和惠娟)现场表演了两个舞蹈；感谢王宗任老师现场挥笔画国画；感谢融融理事介绍华夏烹饪；感谢平萍介绍中文学校；感谢宋浩介绍辉煌的灯展。 以下是所制作的记录片视频。众人拾柴火焰高，志愿者们付出了很多宝贵的时间和精力，为这个社区海外华人的积极团结精神 点赞！

中秋故事会

2020年9月26日
今晚华协主办的故事会很成功，由伟玲主席主持，十四位孩子来自多元化文化背景的家庭参加了以中英文的讲故事，从五岁到十八岁，中文学得优秀，故事讲得有趣，非常令人感动。感谢薛伟默默无闻地为准备这个故事会花了数不清的时间。

斯波坎艺术奖

2020年9月26日
好消息！华协被提名为斯波肯艺术奖/领导奖项的候选人（Spokane Arts Awards - Leadership Award）。华协的存在对丰富华人的精神生活，扩大社区的影响起到了积极贡献，会给华人社区带来巨大正面的影响。感谢历届会长和理事的工作，感谢几百位义工的付出，感谢华人基督教会及其他社团对华协工作的支持，这是一个重要的里程碑。即使我们不是最后的得胜机构，能肩并肩地与其他的卓越机构平起平坐，这是将近二十年华协带领下的华人社区的共同努力的表彰！特别感谢舞蹈队在颁奖仪式上的表演，风筝舞美极了！

高中生毕业庆祝

2020年6月13日
为华人高中生庆祝毕业是华协多年的传统。在疫情之下，今年的高中毕业生经历了太多的失望与失落，今天斯波坎华人协会成功地组织了在线斯波坎华裔高中生毕业庆祝。伟玲主席代表华协理事会祝贺了毕业生的十个家庭，并讲述了中华民族感恩父母的传统美德。与会的家长和孩子们及去年毕业生家长代表们坦诚交流，祝贺孩子们成功完成了一个重要的里程，将要跨进人生的新里程。在此，华协理事会再次向各家庭表示祝贺。让我们一起建设社区，让我们在这个社交隔离的时期给每一个家庭送去温暖。我们在一起，一起度过这个非常时期！

2020斯波坎中国新年晚会

大家好！2020年鼠年即将来临，斯波坎城华人协会在这里预祝大家新的一年”鼠”不尽的欢乐，”鼠”不完的好运，”鼠”不停的收获，”鼠”不清的幸福。

斯波坎华人协会是一个连接与团结大斯波坎地区华人的非营利组织。其目的在于加强华人社区内部联谊并为社会贡献才智，追求更丰富和更高质量的生活。2020年春节的大年初一（1月25日）1点至6点，华协将在University High School（12420 E 32nd Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99216）举办春节庙会和春节演出。今年庆祝主题是“斯波坎的龙的传人：我们的文化我们的故事”。期待您带您的家人和朋友们一起来参加庆祝活动，分享我们的传统文化和艺术。活动是免费对公众开放的。

春节庙会从1月25日下午1点到4点在University High School Common Area。庙会中既有王宗仁老师及他的学生们的中国书法和绘画表演，手工剪纸和传统中国棋类，也有套圈、跳绳等趣味游戏，更有家长关心的中文教育机会和社区团体介绍及文化交流等精彩纷呈的游园活动。家长和孩子在这些活动中将认识和体会中华文化的魅力。

今年将会有新节目“专题移民故事讲述环节”推向社会，从3点到3点45分在University High School礼堂举行。包括平苹曾经在Toastmaster Club美国西北地区（即第九赛区）幽默演讲比赛获得冠军的移民故事，华人企业家创业等动人心弦的故事。真实而不乏幽默的故事，会从一个崭新的角度增进社会也丰富我们华人自身对斯波坎华人这个群体的认识。

春节演出将于4点30分到6点在University High School礼堂举行。服务于社区十八年的华人舞蹈队一如既往成为演出的主力，由张惠杰队长带领队员表演极具传统民族特色的舞蹈。斯波坎华人合唱队会献上传统的中英文歌曲。狮舞，魔术等等民间才艺表演，会为整台演出锦上添花。 斯波坎华人教会的庞大合唱团和乐队也在密锣紧鼓，整装待发为社区献上大合唱。

斯城华协全体理事会成员、众多志愿者和演员们每年投入大量时间准备春节及全年活动，我们感谢大家的热情参与，感谢赞助者和捐献者的持续支持。

2020 Year of the Rat is coming. Spokane Chinese Association is here to wish you all in the Year of Rat endless joy, endless good luck and happiness.
The Spokane Chinese Association (SCA) is a non-profit organization that connects and unites people with Chinese heritage in the Greater Spokane region. The purpose of SCA is to foster stronger community connections, contribute talents to the larger community, and pursue a more enriched quality of life.

On the first day of Lunar New Year (January 25， 2020) from 1 to 6 p.m., the SCA will host a Lunar New Year Celebration (including a Culture Fair, Storytelling, and Performances) at The University High School (12420 E 32nd Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99216). This year's theme of the celebration is "Descendants of the Dragon in Spokane: Our Culture, Our Stories". Please bring your family and friends to the celebration and share in our traditional culture and art. Activities are open to the public without charge.

The Lunar New Year Cultural Fair will be held at the University High School Common Area from 1 to 4 p.m. on January 25th. The cultural fair will include Chinese calligraphy and painting performances by Mr. Wang Zongren and his students, together with hand paper cutting and traditional Chinese chess sets. It will also have fun games such as loops and jumping ropes. In addition, there are opportunities for parents to enjoy Chinese language education and community group introduction, as well as other wonderful cultural activities. Parents and children will be able to recognize and appreciate the charm of Chinese culture and arts in these activities.

In the 2020 Lunar New Year Celebration, SCA will dedicate a brand new program to the greater Spokane community i.e. “Storytelling of Chinese Immigrants”. We will have storytellers including Ping Ping’s humorous story, which won first place in the Humorous Speech Category of the 9th District of Toastmaster International 2019, touching stories by Chinese immigrant entrepreneurs in Spokane, and others. These stories will open a window for people of Spokane to “see” who we are. It will also deepen our own community‘s understanding of our internal world. The storytelling is from 3 to 3: 45 pm at Theater of University High School. It is free to the public.

From 4:30 to 6 pm, the Lunar New Year Show will be held at the University High School Auditorium. Having served the community for 18 years, Spokane Chinese Dance Group, led by captain Mary Zhang, will perform Chinese traditional folk dances. Spokane Chinese Choir will bring you songs in both Chinese and English. Lion dance, magic, and other talent programs will bring variety to the stage. Spokane Chinese Church Choir & Band, with more than 50 members, are busy practicing their programs and looking forward to being part of the show.

The board members, many volunteers and actors of the SCA spend a lot of time each year preparing for the Lunar New Year Celebration and the year-round events. We thank you for your enthusiastic participation. We also appreciate the continued support from sponsors and donors.
