Feb. 12 will be SFCC 2010 Chinese Culture Day, we would like to invite and welcome everyone who is available and interested in knowing more about Chinese culture come to join us. The location is at SFCC Lounge A and B, Student Union Building (Building 17). From 9: 30 am to afternoon. We will have three presentations this year, 9:30 The Chinese Commercial Coalitions in Past and Present: Mr. Zhongmin Wang Mr. Wang received his Master degree of International Management for Business Development at Whitworth University. He is the founder and owner of SinoBiz Online Marketing Consulting. He will be focusing on the history of the several major commercial coalitions in China and the interaction between culture and business. 10: 30 Comparing Chinese and American Cultures: Dr. Lijun Bai Dr. Lijun Bai has a Ph.D. in Electrochemistry and is the Principal Research Scientist for ReliOn. Through his life and studies he has lived and travelled in Canada, the U.S. and China. He will talk about his own experiences and specific observations on the cultures of the U.S. and China. 11:30 Ethnic Minority Groups in China: Dr. Ping Ping Dr. Ping has a Ph.D. in Sociology and is the Sociology instructor at SFCC. She will address the question “Does China have ethnic diversity? How is Han group formed?”. She will briefly review the history of ethnicity started from Xia Dynasty and discuss the current situation as well. 12: 50 Sample Chinese Food from King Yen Restaurant 1: 30 Showing of Ann Hui On-Wah’s Movie: Postmodern Life of My Aunt (2006) The movie casts an aging single woman, Ye Rutang. It mirrors some aspects of Chinese people’s modern life in Shanghai.
